This is a painting of a beautiful friend of mine on the Big Island of Hawaii wearing a headdress she made using feathers from roadkill birds or birds that were killed by dogs.

She is staring at wisdom – the Owl.  The word for owl in Hawaiian is Pueo (pronounced Poo-way-oh).  Right after I painted this, unbeknownst to me, she started dating her true love – a man in Hawaii named Pueo!
